XTL Mentor Program
All drivers joining XTL will benefit from our Mentor Program. A unique approach to train and support them with experienced company mentors for about two weeks.
The mentor system includes a comprehensive orientation in class with on site follow up to “confirm what has been learned, and that, from the start. If the driver has any questions, they can be answered directly and we can accompany the candidate whether to cross the border, for safety issues or guidelines from a specific customer. We are here for support 100% of the time”, explains Yves Leboeuf, one of our Senior Driver Trainers.
This framework allows us to establish a relationship of trust with our newly employed drivers and coach their first hours with XTL. It is also an effective way to identify difficulties, to make technical evaluations and intervene.
“Drivers really appreciate the training which allows us to transmit our knowledge and establish contact with customers. After, when the driver goes alone, he has already been there and the customer is satisfied”, says Yves Leboeuf.
To encourage them to adopt good driving habits, monitoring is performed on a specific period. The program is in development but helps encourage drivers, who have increased their average MPG, to wear the famous XTL yellow hat!
Currently, there are mentor guides in all five XTL Transport terminals, for a total of 18 in the company. They are also trained in mentoring and have years of experience as drivers on the road and as XTL employees.
What differentiates XTL Transport from its competitors in its Human Resources management is certainly the welcoming of drivers and its support with the XTL mentor program.
